Marketing Differences Between House and Commercial Painting

Post by Eugene » Wed Feb 24, 2016 5:58 am

So we all recognise that in order to run a successful painting business, you need good marketing and advertising skills. So I thought I could just share something that I came across recently that other business owners on here might be interested in.

House Painting vs Commercial Painting - What should your business focus on?

First, here are some statistics that you might be interested in. This is the total search volume (the amount of times people search for a specific word) for Google in Australia.

House painting - 390 searches per month
Commercial painting - 110 per month

So this is a very simplistic approach and it is probably something that we are all very well aware of. But there is a much bigger market for residential painting than commercial painting.

So how can this benefit your business?

If you have a website for your painting business, make sure that you have a page that focuses primarily on residential painting (preferably your homepage), and then a page that focuses on commercial painting.

Here is an example:
This is the Bowral Painters website, a team of painters in the Southern Highlands.

As you look at their website you can see that they have a page focusing on "Commercial Painting", "Residential Painting" and also "Interior Painting".

This is a great template to follow for your website as not only will it help your SEO, but it will also help searchers identify that you do provide the services that they are looking for.

Hope this helps.
