Lead Paint and Asbestos Management Course

Post by Painters Institute » Fri Apr 20, 2012 4:28 am

Lead Paint and Asbestos Management Course
April 27th, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Darwin
Cost: $400 (Free for Painters completing Certificate III Painting and Decorating RPL Assessment)

The Lead Paint and Asbestos Management Course is essential for all professional painters. Any building painted before 1971 may need lead paint management. Carrying out painting on a building without testing and treating lead paint can cause:
Brain Damage to children exposed to lead dust
Brain damage to unborn fetuses whose mothers breathe in lead dust
Major health problems for employees, including lead poisoning
Prosecution of painting contractors who fail to follow legislation. Ignorance is no excuse!
Click to watch a video of what can happen:

It's not worth the risk! Get trained and qualified now by attending this fully accredited course. This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to treat lead paint and asbestos hazards, including removal of lead-based paints from surfaces, encapsulation and the control of associated hazards.

The unit includes planning and preparation for the work, testing procedures, definition and preparation of the work area, removal of contaminated material, encapsulation of contaminated material and completion of clean-up activities.

Get listed on the painters.edu.au database of accredited contractors

Is this course based on CPCCPD3011A? Or is it a separate course?

Does the NPDI know if Australian Construction Training Services will ever run this on line?

I believe that a company called Edubytes is assisting training organisations with getting ready to embrace the emerging mobile technology.
