Hi, pacificpainters,
you've presented a well-thought piece of writing, but, unfortunately, lots of archtectural memorials and buildings are prone to concrete cancer, this is as i get used to calling it, "the illness brought by time". I wish people of ancient times had known of so called self-healing concrete to preserve at least half of historical buildings in its primreval view..

Thanks for your feedback, I just wanted to express the importance of a good membrane coating. I believe if we as applicators ensure an good coating system we can perhaps at least slow down the damage.

True, concrete and steel will eventually break down anyway through "the illness brought by time". All we can do is slow it down, the example I sighted in Rabi I believe would be a classic example. The coating had really failed on that building, the concrete and hence the steel inside were not protected at all.
